This qualification is for those who have experience at Plastering and are involved in organising and supervising the activities being carried out - It is suitable for a plastering supervisor or similar.
The qualification units are a combination of Drylining - Fixing and Work Supervision NVQs.
You will need to demonstrate practical skills in a variety of plastering and supervision related activities.
You will also need to show understanding and awareness to prove you have a good level of knowledge in areas of your work and construction related health & safety.
Your assessor will visit you between 2-4 times (in general) to collect evidence relating to the qualification. Using methods such as Observation (watching) and Questioning/Discussion they will collect what's needed to prove your competence in your job role.
A third party reference (witness testimony) can be used as another source of evidence stating the work you are involved in, what responsibilities you have and your level of competence.
Videos and recorded discussions are used as they are a good way of collecting substantial evidence in both practical ability and level of understanding.
Your assessor will work with you to plan the assessments and methods used according to the individual.
The timescale between your initial induction for the course and completion varies. However, 3-4 months is a realistic time although it can be longer or even shorter depending on the candidate's ability and availability.
The cost of a Level 3 NVQ is £1025 plus VAT at the prevailing rate. Grant money can be claimed back at completion by companies registered with CITB.
